Laura Clark Laura Clark began piano study at age ten in New York City, and flute study at age eleven in Syracuse, New York. When she was in 8th grade in Syracuse, Laura began to accompany the High School choir on piano and later performed on flute with a woodwind quintet, All State Band, and was a flute soloist many times with the High School Band.Laura continued her music studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where she majored in flute performance under Joseph Mariano and minored in piano performance, playing with a woodwind quintet and in an orchestra performance under the direction of Igor Stravinsky. She later performed as flute soloist in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No 2 with the SUNY Binghamton University Orchestra. Laura also studied harpsichord at SUNY Binghamton, and gave a solo harpsichord chamber recital including works by Bach, Rameau, Couperin, and Scarlatti. Laura earned a BA in Religious Studies from UC Santa Barbara, studied Sanskrit as an MA Foreign Language Fellow at UC Berkeley, and Natural Resources as an MS Researcher at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. After moving to North Idaho in ’79, she homesteaded and home schooled her 3 children for many years, and then returned to her music career in the 90's, teaching piano, flute, and recorder lessons in her private music studio. Laura developed and taught a successful music program for HS students at the Monarch School in Heron, MT for five years, including instruction on flute, piano, clarinet, violin, cello, trombone, sax, voice, jazz combo, music theory, and choir. She has performed in recent years with the Dolce Quartet, while continuing to teach flute and piano in her private studio. She currently performs flute and piano with Loi Eberle on cello in Legato Ladies. In fall of 2010, Laura joined forces with the Sandpoint Music Conservatory to teach flute, piano, and rhythm workshops. Email Laura Clark
